The Cotswolds

Visited the Cotswolds on April 10th...

Okay, let's go back in time for a moment. One of our first stops in England was to a beautiful area called the Cotswolds. Susie and her mom, Kris, took us on a day road trip and showed us all around. All the buildings in this area are required to be made out of the "Cotswolds Stone." This is also where most of the rich and famous come to live, relax and get married. We were really impressed with all of the little villages and the scenery. It was absolutely gorgeous and probably one of our favorite places so far on the trip.

This is driving into one of the little villages.

This is just a little stream running through the first village we stopped in. (Unfortunately, we are not very good at remembering all the names.) As you can see, it is very touristy.

Susie, Kris and Shane enjoying cream tea at the Mad Hatter Tea House. This was mine and Shane's first proper tea experience.

Shane and I after our tea at the Mad Hatter.

One of the beautiful houses in one of the villages in the Cotswolds. (Lovely description isn't it?)

Another view of the little stream. And another photo of the beautiful weather that we enjoyed while in England. Everyone has always talked about how bad the weather is in the UK, but we only had 2 slightly bad days and they were in Scotland. (for two days the weather was a bit dreek and mengan!!)

This is one of the last villages we went through. There was a big mill there.

This is a beautiful example of Shane's photography skills! The first one he took had most of the car's roof in it, so he retook it and this one turned out great. This is a really old house in the countryside.

The attack of the flock of sheep. EVERYWHERE we went in the English countryside, we saw lots and lots of sheep. They are everywhere and just roam around. This was the first time we actually saw anyone tending them.

Another pretty house.

The classic red phone booth.

One of the city centers.

A hotel I snuck into to take a photo, cause I thought it was really pretty.

A church in the city center.

Susie has been arrested and put in the stocks. She doesn't look very happy about that.

Guess what??? Another pretty house!

This is becoming quite a theme. Obviously, we were impressed with the architecture.

This one is not a house...it's a church. And quite an old one too.

Shane and Susie at Te Swan. This was the first night in England. This little pub is about 3 minutes from Susie's dad's house.

This is the famous Swan! We had a lovely first night there.

More pictures to come soon..hopefully!
